working principle
The working principle of the FT201 flowmeter is based on the Doppler effect (change in the frequency of the reflected signal). The flowmeter controller measures the frequency shift of the sensor signal reflected from the surface and determines the fluid velocity value. Another signal used to measure the liquid level is directed vertically upwards from the bottom mounted sensor and reflected from the liquid/gas interface. Velocity and level readings are converted to volume flow readings in the controller.

For highly aerated or turbulent flows, use the solution with a separate ultrasonic level sensor. It measures liquid level by transmitting ultrasonic pulses through air to the liquid surface with an accuracy of ±0.25%. Along with the liquid level sensor, a submersible Doppler velocity sensor is used to measure the water flow velocity.

The main function
Measure velocity, level and volume flow of non-corrosive liquids
Measure in open channels with trapezoidal, rectangular, oval sections (user can set any section),
Measured in unfilled free-flowing round tubes
Simulates a current output proportional to the selected parameter
Data logger (128 MB, ~26 million points), data reset to USB flash drive
Communication via Modbus® RTU or HART protocol via RS-485 (optional)
