Compared with other flowmeters, ultrasonic flowmeters do not require drilling holes in the pipeline or cutting off the flow during installation and maintenance, making the installation more convenient. Especially for some large-diameter metering systems, the advantages of installation are more prominent, which can save a lot of manpower and material resources.
Driven by the rapid development of modern industrial production, the application fields of flow measurement are expanding day by day and have become an important part of life. There are many methods for flow measurement, and ultrasonic flowmeters have been widely recognized and applied due to their non-contact measurement characteristics. Currently, significant progress has been made in the research of ultrasonic flowmeters at home and abroad. The flow velocity of the fluid is measured by the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the fluid to calculate the flow rate. Especially with the use of computers, data processing has become more convenient and accurate, and it also has self-checking functions. This can automatically correct the errors caused by changes in the flow field distribution. Ultrasonic flowmeters have the following characteristics:
1. Easy to install and maintain
Compared with other flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters do not require drilling holes in the pipeline or cutting off the flow during installation and maintenance, making the installation more convenient. Especially for some large-diameter metering systems, the advantages of installation are more prominent, which can save a lot of manpower and material resources.
2. Large Measuring Pipe Diameter
There are no obstructions or moving parts inside the detection component, which will not cause blockage to the fluid. It is suitable for difficult-to-measure media and large-diameter measurement, with a maximum measuring pipe diameter of up to 10 meters, far exceeding the pipe diameter of traditional flow meters. In addition, the size of the pipe diameter of the ultrasonic flow meter does not affect its price, while the price of traditional flow meters varies with the pipe diameter.
3. High Measurement Reliability
Whether it is external clamp installation or insertion installation, ultrasonic flow meters do not affect the flow field and do not have moving parts, resulting in no pressure loss. In addition, the sensor is centered on the computer and uses timing methods to effectively enhance the stability of the signal, eliminating the influence of noise interference and circuit faults, thus having high measurement reliability.
4. Small External Influencing Factors
During the measurement process with ultrasonic flow meters, it is different from other flow meters. It is not affected by the physical properties or parameters of the fluid, and there is a good linear relationship between the output and the flow rate, so the measurement range is relatively large.
5. Automatic Control System
Computers can automatically control the operation of the flow meter, automatically display the measurement results and print them. In addition, it has a standard universal interface and outputs standard DC signals, so it can be networked with computer monitoring systems to implement dynamic control.
